José Gurría-Cardenas

Mexican National Endowment for the Arts Fellow (FONCA 2007-2008) and Founder of Ethos Trio. Gurría is Musical Director of USC’s Thornton Outreach Los Angeles Youth Jazz Ensemble (LAYJE). He recently played with his sextet at L.A.’s Jazz Bakery featuring trombone legend Bill Watrous. He is an active composer/ arranger for numerous ensembles and visual media. He is contributing writer for Músico Pro magazine. Jose Gurría is endorsed by Remo.
Arturo Luna

One of the most sought after double bass players in the Mexican jazz scene. Luna studied at the Escuela Nacional de Música (UNAM) in México city with distinguished professors. Luna’s discography includes some of the most important figures in Mexican jazz. From 1998 to 2008 he served as chair of Performance Studies of the Academia de Música Fermatta (member of the Berklee International Network). Currently he is Music Director of Mexican Folk Sensation Alejandra Robles. In 2009 Luna founded his own contemporary music school.
Javier Reséndiz

Studied piano at the School for Improvisational Music (SIM) in Brooklyn, NY. He is a regular in the bands of prominent Mexican jazz artists. As a member of Ethos Trío he has performed in some of the most prestigious venues in México and the world. Currently he is developing the Javier Reséndiz’s PSD Trío with Juan Alzáte (Saxophone) and Hernan Hecht (drums).
